Time Is NOT on Our Side

We recommend that draperies should be removed as soon as possible following an incident to avoid collateral damage from smoke odor, moisture, mold and other airborne contaminants. Draperies are extremely susceptible to PERMANENT wrinkling if removed and handled incorrectly.

When a restoration contractor, brings them to us QUICKLY, with the appropriate care and a careful inventory, we can start the restoration process on a fast-track schedule. After checking for fabric damage, particularly for weak or damaged fabric structure, we follow a process that has been established for years based on our successful experience in restoring draperies.
We know that restoration work can be difficult and there is almost always a great deal of time pressure on completing the project, so we hard to combine the highest quality of restoration and the quickest turnaround possible.

Drapery Cleaning Process

Farrow Dry Cleaning always begins any restoration project by reviewing the inventory provided by a contractor client to be sure that what we have received matches the inventory provided with it.

Carefully assessing the kind of drapery, including fabric type and condition to determine the best cleaning method

Dry Cleaning or Washing

dry cleaning is the most commonly used first step in restoring drapes, however, depending on the fabric type and the condition of the actual soot on the drapes, washing may be a preferred method.

Any stains or spots need to be removed. Extreme care needs to be taken so this level of cleaning will not discolor the fabric.

Through our years of working with draperies, we can determine just what level and type of drying are needed to safely finish the treatment of the drapes.

Folding and Packaging

We carefully prepare the cleaned draperies for pickup by the contractor, including using the proper packaging material for safe transport. This step also includes making sure that any location or re-hanging information provided by the contractor is included with the appropriated drapery sections or panels.
We offer the convenience of at-your-front-door pick-up and delivery in the entire extended Shaker/Beachwood area. Choose pickup and drop-off text on what works best for YOU.
